About the City
Located as the seat of Brown County, the city known as Packerland or Titletown USA is home to 100,353 residents. Green Bay, of course, is also home to the NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. The city began in 1634 as a small trading post, making Green Bay the 13th-oldest permanent settlement in America. It has been awarded the title of All-American City twice. Nearby communities include Allouez, DePere, Ashwaubenon, Howard and Bellevue. The city is located on the mouth of the Fox River and is a port of Green Bay, a sub-basin of Lake Michigan. The typical Green Bay resident is 33 years old, educated and travels 17 minutes to work. 

Education
Green Bay has numerous private, religiously-oriented and public schools, ensuring that students have easy access to whatever educational institution they prefer. Green Bay Area Public School District operates 35 grade schools, one of which is a choice school for part-homeschool, part-in-class instruction. The school district also has a Gifted and Talented (GT) program for students who already know much of what is going to be taught or are "fast and forever" learners.  These students require a different method of education and the GT program aims to provide that. Universities and colleges located in Green Bay include the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Bellin College of Nursing, Bellin Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, and 2 different colleges of cosmetology. A couple of miles outside of of Green Bay is Saint Norbert College. Other schools in the area include Fox Valley Technical College at Appleton, the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, Lakeland College, Moraine Park Technical College, Concordia University in Wisconsin, and Cardinal Stritch University.

Recreation
Football is a major focus in the city. The Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame features trophies, memorabilia and the Vince Lombardi collection.  The Hall also showcases each of the Super Bowl victories in the team's history. As one of the oldest U.S. settlements, there is also much history to be found in the city. Heritage Hill State Historical Park has re-created various sights and experiences from the city's history including a 1762 fur trader's cabin and several Fort Howard buildings from the 1830s. Another unique collection in the area includes the National Railroad Museum with various trains and automobiles from America's history. Other favorite attractions in Green Bay include the NEW Zoo and Oneida Bingo. The zoo has a special emphasis on natural interaction between visitors and animals, leading the way in zoo innovation. For those who prefer to explore indoors, Green Bay features three major shopping malls with nearly 200 stores. The Historic Broadway District of Green Bay and Main Street also feature boutiques and specialty shops.
